Mont Tremblant, Canada Unveils Summer Skiing Terrain Park

    By Ian Greenwood,

Last summer, Mont Tremblant, Quebec, unveiled a summer skiing slope made with artificial snow. Now, that slope has terrain park features.

“The park modules are installed and ready to go on the summer skiing slope!” Mont Tremblant wrote in an Instagram post yesterday. “We have different level modules on our dry slope so you can practice your snowpark skills before the next season starts.”

Mont Tremblant's summer park isn't big, but there's surely some fun to be had here.

From now until September 2nd, the slope will be open every day between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Weekend operations will start on September 3rd and continue until October 20th. Adult tickets without rentals are $22. The summer slope has limited access served by a magic carpet, so Mont Tremblant recommends grabbing a ticket in advance.

Based on the images shared by Mont Tremblant, the park and dry slope are humble. Still, with its artificial snow, the resort has become one of the few places North American skiers can get their summer kicks. The other major East Coast offering is Big Snow American Dream, an indoor ski area in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Skiing isn’t the only summer activity on the menu at Mont Tremblant. The resort also has a summer tubing park with two sliding corridors. Plus, there’s a bunch of other admittedly random—but fun-looking—stuff to do. Falconry? Yep. Hiking with sled dogs? That’s an option, too. You can even go for a helicopter ride if you don’t mind shelling out some extra cash.

Say what you want about artificial snow surfaces, but this looks like fun.

There are at least four features at Mont Tremblant's summer terrain park. Not bad for the beginning of August.

But you’re reading POWDER, not a falconry or helicopter magazine, so, odds are, you’re here for the skiing. And with the addition of some park features, Mont Tremblant has turned up its dry slope experience another notch. Just make sure you wear a long sleeve and pants if you check out. Exposed skin and artificial snow don't get along very well.

Stay tuned to Tremblant's socials next week as rumor has it they're hosting a summer rail jam on the new park.
