All-you-can-drink milk price hiked to $3 at the Minnesota State Fair

All-you-can-drink milk is one of the Minnesota State Fair's best-loved bargains, but this year's cup cost a dollar more.

The milk stand served roughly 25,500 gallons of milk during last year's fair, when a bottomless cup cost $2.

That price will increase to $3 in 2024, marking the stand's first price hike since $1 all-you-can drink milk became $2 all-you-can-drink milk back in 2015 .

"The price increase reflects the increased cost of labor and supplies," a spokesperson for Midwest Dairy, which runs the dairy farmer-owned operation, told Bring Me The News.

The change seemingly favors keeping the all-you-can-drink tradition alive over the option to limit customers to one glass.

All-you-can-drink milk arrived at the fair nearly 70 years ago with a tent on Machinery Hill.

Beginning with a bottomless cup of white milk for a dime back in 1955, the milk stand continues to offer the only unlimited food or beverage item sold at the fair.

Today, customers can enjoy either 2% white or 1% chocolate milk from the stand's current located kitty-corner from the Coliseum.
