Rod Stewart is preparing to play what was supposed to have been the final show of his 13-year Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Wednesday, August 7, but the legendary crooner had a little surprise in store for fans. Stewart has announced that he’s launching a new Vegas residency at the same venue in 2025.

The current residency, dubbed “Rod Stewart: The Hits.,” is ending on August 7 with its 200th performance. The new concert series, meanwhile, is called “The Encore Shows,” and will kick off in March 2025.

    So far, 12 new concerts have been confirmed, scheduled for March 12, 14, 15, 19, 21, and 22; May 29 and 31; and June 1, 5, 7, and 8.

According to an official announcement, “The Encore Shows” will feature Stewart performing “his biggest hits, plus surprises from the songbook, swing, as well as deep cuts, and stunning new production elements.” Rod’s latest album was collaborative project with keyboardist Jools Holland called Swing Fever, so fans can expect him to include some material from that 2023 release.

As for why Stewart decided to schedule more Las Vegas performances, the press statement explained that the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer “realized that he’s having too much fun to completely end [the residency].”

Pre-sale tickets for Stewart’s 2025 Vegas concerts will be available on Thursday, August 8, starting at 10 a.m. PT. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, August 12, at 10 a.m. PT. Fans interested in buying early tickets may want to check StubHub.

Stewart Recently Hinted He’d Be Playing More Vegas Concerts

Stewart hinted that he wasn’t finished playing Las Vegas shows in a recent interview with ABC Audio.

“I mean, I can’t imagine not going back there again,” he said. Stewart also shared praise for the venue that’s hosted his residency.

“Caesars are the best,” he enthused. “I mean, they really looked after me. Best place to play.”

    Stewart’s Other Concert Plans

Immediately after the August 7 show in Vegas, Stewart will launch a series of North American concerts. The run of dates kicks off August 9 in Stateline, Nevada, and is scheduled through a September 15 performance in Niagara Falls, Canada.

Among those shows is a September 13 co-headlining concert with Billy Joel at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland. The event will mark the first time Stewart will share a bill with the Piano Man.

Speaking with ABC Audio about the show with Joel, Stewart admitted that he didn’t know how the concert came about.

“I know he lives in Palm Beach [California] now, where I live sometimes,” Rod noted. “I’ve got no idea [how the show was organized], but I’m actually looking forward to it. I’m honored, in fact.”

Stewart’s 2024 itinerary will wind down with two shows in Europe. They’re scheduled for December 15 in Coruna, Spain, and December 18 in Herning, Denmark. Rod also has a pair of U.S. gigs lined up in early 2025, on February 22 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and February 25 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Tickets for Stewart’s concerts are available now via various outlets, including StubHub.
