It won't be long before Survivor is back on our screens. After two seasons of supersized 90-minute episodes, which many fans consider to be some of the best the "new era" has to offer, a new crop of castaways is hitting the beach for the 47th season of the reality TV giant.

Parade has an exclusive first look at the newest promo for Survivor 47 , premiering with a special two-hour episode on Wednesday, September 18 at 8:00 p.m. In it, we hear host and executive producer Jeff Probst speaking about the concept of the CBS series that has arguably made the show so successful for almost 25 years. "You have people from different walks of life, they never would have met without Survivor ," he explains. "And you're starting to see this community build."

Survivor 47 Promo Sneak Peek (0:30)

Throughout the 30 second-long preview, we get sneak peeks at our 18 new castaways. In some shots, they're getting off the boats, beaming a mile wide at diving into the adventure of a lifetime. In another, one tribe jumps headfirst into a challenge, an essential part of the game to guarantee their dreams of the million-dollar prize stay alive. We even get a confessional from one player who talks about the evolution of the game, as the "new era" has brought about a number of twists and advantages that have made it perhaps more difficult for the players than ever.

But, speaking about the community that Probst mentioned in his narration, the back half of the promo focuses on one man who is well-known for building his own. Jon Lovett , co-founder of the "Crooked Media" podcast company and co-host of such legendary podcasts as "Pod Save America" and "Lovett or Leave It," was confirmed as one of the players on Survivor 47 shortly after he appeared on a season preview during the Season 46 finale. His cameo lit up the Survivor community, an absolute blindside from a celebrity who, up to this point, had never indicated even his fandom for the show publicly. And, in true fashion for Lovett, he seems to be approaching the game from a self-deprecating angle.

"I'm radiating with anxiety," he says in confessional as we see shots of his competition. "I'm just an odd person. And it'll be okay, you'll see. It's worse for me than it is for you."

Whether Lovett is encouraging the listeners at home not to worry about him, or if this is self-talk to immerse him into a very different political world than he's used to, remains to be seen. Just don't tell him about the ominous skull torch snuffer that Probst brandishes in the promo.
