    Gabby Douglas says she’s tired of ‘constantly being bullied’ by gymnastics fans who compare her to Simone Biles

    Gabby Douglas said she is tired of “constantly being bullied” by gymnastics fans as they continue to compare her to Simone Biles.

    A TikToker recently posted a video , discussing how she didn’t like how people “dropped” Douglas “like a bad habit” when Biles became the face of gymnastics .

    “Gabby Douglas used to be the greatest Olympic gymnast and then here comes Simone Biles,” the TikTok user said.

    A TikToker said people “dropped” Douglas “like a bad habit” when Biles began dominating gymnastics.

    “Nobody cares about Gabby Douglas anymore. When [was] the last time you thought about Gabby Douglas? I think about her all the time.”

    However, it seemed like the 28-year-old didn’t mind being forgotten as she took to the comments section of the video to respond to the comparison on Tuesday.

    “that’s ok! constantly being bullied is very tiring and wearing on me,” she wrote.

    “i just want to live my life and be at peace 🖤 thanks for the love! definitely needed in this world x.”

    Douglas made history at the 2012 Olympic games in London, becoming the first black gymnast to win an Olympic title. She also became the first American to win all-around and team golds at the same games, per the Olympics website .

    Douglas was noticeably missing from the 2024 Olympic Games, which kicked off on July 26 in Paris.

    In June, the three-time Olympic gold medallist announced on Instagram that she would be ending her journey to the Olympics due to a foot injury.

    “this may be the end of this chapter but not the end of my gymnastics story,” she wrote alongside of black-and-white photo of herself in the air.

    Meanwhile, Biles dominated the 2024 Olympics, winning three gold medals and one silver medal.

    With those wins, the athlete became the most decorated American Olympic gymnast of all time — now with 11 total Olympic medals, including seven gold. She also became the oldest American gymnast to win a gold medal at 27.

    Biles previously spoke about how seeing Douglas take home the gold in 2012 inspired her to be the best she could be.

    “Growing up, I didn’t see very many black gymnasts … So whenever I did, I felt really inspired to go out there and want to be as good as them,” she told Vogue in 2020.

    “I remember watching Gabby Douglas win the 2012 Olympics, and I was like, If she can do it, I can do it.”
