While The Ultimate Warrior is still beloved by many wrestling fans who grew up in the 80s and 90s, he doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to being fan-friendly and professional in his business dealings. And now popular podcaster Conrad Thompson has shared his own experience of dealing with the WWE Hall of Famer on both AdFreeShows.com and X, revealing he tried to purchase ring-worn belts from him, but “ he tried to scam me out of six figures in 2013 .”

Apparently, Warrior initially tried to sell Thompson a replica of the WWF Championship belt used at SummerSlam, and then when that failed, he attempted to sell an Intercontinental Championship belt that he’d previously sold to another collector. Additionally, Thompson would reveal that two other WWE Hall of Famers wanted to sell him replicas of their titles. However, he didn’t name the carny conmen because they are still alive but did confirm they weren’t Ric Flair or Hulk Hogan while replying to comments.

Warrior would pass away just one year after his interaction with Thompson, aged 54, just days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame himself. Subsequently, WWE introduced the Warrior Award, which was given to those who embody “ the indomitable spirit of the Ultimate Warrior.” However , after cutting ties with Warrior’s widow, the award was quietly dropped, and nobody was honored in 2024.
