Irish actress Eve Hewson stars in a gripping Netflix drama that had a plot twist so unexpected it left viewers claiming they were “messed up for days.”
The thrilling Netflix series - titled Behind Her Eyes - tells the story of single mother Louise Barnsley who falls in love with her boss Dr. David Ferguson. Based on the 2017 novel of the same name the show sees things progressing well between the couple until Louise decides to befriend David's wife, Adele.
Viewers found the final moments of the series gripping as it took an unexpected turn that some social media users claim left them “messed up for days.” The complicated plotline sees Louise believing that she is causing a rift between David and Adele.
However, in a very unexpected turn of events it transpires that Adele is not herself - quite literally. Her rehab friend Rob has astral projected himself into her body and killed Adele's soul which was trapped in his body.

Louise somehow comes to the horrifying realisation of what is going on towards the end of the show. But her moment of clarity comes too late and Rob uses the same technique to take control of her body, forcing her into Adele's where he then kills her by injecting her with a lethal amount of heroin.
The shocking twist in Behind Her Eyes has been hailed as one of the darkest stories viewers can find on Netflix . One Reddit user prompted conversation about the show when they commented on a thread looking for movie recommendations that contained good plot twists.
Another social media user then offered up their recommendation as they admitted the horror they experienced from watching the series. They wrote: “Not a movie, but Behind Her Eyes. The show stars Bono and Ali Hewson's daughter Eve as Adele, with her working alongside Simona Brown as Louise, and Tom Bateman as David, while Robert Aramayo takes on the role of Rob. The psychological thriller scores an impressive 7.2 on IMDB.
The series originally premiered on Netflix on 17 February 2021 and was adapted for TV by Steve Lightfoot, based on the novel by Sarah Pinborough.
