The St. Louis Cardinals are coming off one of the most exciting games of the season. The team defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 on Monday after a pair of home runs took the leaf for St. Louis and held on with a brilliant starting performance from Sonny Gray . They will look to continue that momentum in game two of the series against the Rays as they will face a familiar face for the very first time.

Tuesday, August 7th: Erick Fedde vs. Taj Bradley

The Cardinals will go with Erick Fedde (7-5, 3.34 ERA) on the mound on Wednesday. It will be the second start for the right hander since being acquired by the Cardinals from the Chicago White Sox before the MLB Trade Deadline. Fedde didn't have the best debut in a Cardinals uniform as he took the hill last week against the Chicago Cubs, but he rebounded nicely to finish five innings. The 31 year old allowed five runs on six hits and recorded four strikeouts in the start.

As for the Rays, the team will start Taj Bradley (6-5, 2.71 ERA) at Busch Stadium. Bradley is coming off a mediocre performance against the Miami Marlins by allowing four runs across five innings of work. However, before that start, the 23 year old went three consecutive starts without allowing a run.

    Today's Lineup

For the first time ever the St. Louis Cardinals will go up against a former outfielder in Wednesday's contest. Dylan Carlson will be in the lineup for the Tampa Bay Rays for game two of the series. The recently traded outfielder spent his entire career with the Cardinals before being moved at the Trade Deadline on July 30th. He will play left field and bat fifth for the Rays.
