Kesha revealed that she plans to make a "permanent" lyric change to one of her biggest songs — as soon as she is legally able to do so.

Kesha took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday (August 7) to reflect on her hit song "TiK Tok," a track that she hopes allows fans to "connect with your wild child-like joy."

"TiK Tok was the first single that I put into this world that had my voice AND my name credited!!!! I remember making it fun and happy because that's how I felt and wanted others to feel," she said. "What I'm so proud of is that's how this song STILL makes me feel, through it all, and those are emotions I want all of us to connect to ."

More than a decade after the release of the hit, the "Joyride" singer is reflecting on how she feels about the track years later and how it "eternalizes" a younger version of herself.

"15 (!!!!!!) years later, I see this song as a snapshot into the way I saw the world at the time. That girl was naive and wild and playful. This song eternalizes a side of myself that I love very much, and now see I have to protect fiercely. The world has changed so much and so have I ."

However, there is one major change she plans to make with the song when she can, and that's to adjust the opening lyrics. In the original version, Kesha sings, "Wake up in the mornin' feeling like P. Diddy," but with the controversy now surrounding the producer , Kesha said she plans to re-record the song to say "Wake up in the mornin' saying f--- P. Diddy" instead. She shouted out Reneé Rapp , who she performed the song with (lyric change included) during the former's 2024 Coachella set, per AV Club .

"I absolutely love the new lyric change... Yes it is permanent," she said. "I will re-record it when I have legal rights to! Now, my first baby stands for so much. It stands for fiercely protecting my fun and unadulterated joy, in myself and in others. The whole ride has been absolute insanity, but the JOY✨ is still riding."
