“Gasped at Those High Notes”: Morgan Wallen Teases New Sound With Another Unreleased Song

These days, practically the only artist capable of unseating Morgan Wallen on the country charts is… Morgan Wallen. The “I Had Some Help” hitmaker is on fire, with all 36 tracks from his 2023 album One Thing at a Time entering the Billboard Hot 100. After dropping his latest hit “Lies, Lies, Lies” on July 4, Wallen, 31, is again hinting at new music—and fans are ready.

Morgan Wallen Samples New Sound on Social Media

Morgan Wallen is equally capable of penning a raucous beer-drinking anthem as he is a heart-wrenching breakup ballad. In a Wednesday (Aug. 7) Instagram post, he teased fans with a snippet of an released song that seems to fall into the latter category. The minute-long clip featured some uncharacteristic high notes from the ACM Award winner.

But it was good to see you smile / Girl you know it’s been awhile / Wallen sang. It was good to see you smile, even if it was just for the picture.

The East Tennessee native offered no commentary beyond a smiley face emoji in the caption.

Social Media Explodes Over New Wallen Music

Fans have been hungry to hear new material from Morgan Wallen for quite some time. So naturally, the reaction to Wednesday’s teaser was an explosive one.

“gasped at those high notes,” commented an Instagram user.

Another added, “Chill song with fire potential. I’m here for it!”

“Damn son…they just keep getting better,” added yet another fan. “love this one.”

Other fans expressed their impatience. “don’t be shy drop it,” urged one Instagram user.

“Ohmygosh my heart can’t wait,” added another.

The promo comes just two days after Wallen appeared to hint at a new era of music on social media. On Monday (Aug. 5), the “Whiskey Glasses” singer posted a reel showcasing clips from his highly sought-after One Night at a Time tour. He included audio from a previous message promising that new music was just around the corner.

“I’m really excited for y’all to hear the new music,” he said. “It sounds awesome.”
