Video Shows Steve Jobs' Widow's Super-Yacht Crashing Into Another Vessel

A video shared online reportedly shows the super-yacht owned by Laurene Powell Jobs , the widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs , crashing into another mega-vessel owned by Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego .

Jobs' super-yacht, Venus, was seen slowly colliding with the Lady Moura in Italy on July 22 in a video shared by Boat International digital editor Katia Damborsky on Instagram. Both vessels are reported to be worth up to $120 million. A source with knowledge of the situation told Page Six that both ships were anchored when the collision took place.

“The Venus came into contact with the Lady Moura — which was also anchored,” the source said, noting that "no family" was on the boat at the time, "only crew" members.

"The wind changed very suddenly, picking up from a breeze to 55 knots over the course of a few minutes," the source added.

The source claimed that "neither boat 'dragged anchor,'" but said the Lady Moura was “on a chain double the length [to be] expected in the depth of water they were in… Both captains were in discussion immediately following the incident about minor repairs needed,” according to Page Six .

Pliego's side recorded the video shared by Damborsky on Instagram, according to Boat International , which reported that he was heard saying in Spanish, “I would like to know what the captain and crew were doing that they didn’t see a yacht the size of mine in front of me. Good thing nothing but a scratch happened, but it’s a big scratch that’s going to [cost] a lot to fix.”

Venus, which was designed by Philippe Starck 's Ubik company and built by Feadship, was unveiled in October 2012, one year after Steve Jobs' death in October 2011.
