Fighting at training camp doesn't necessarily correlate with a high win percentage. A lot of teams around the NFL scrap a lot this time of year at practice and wind up missing the playoffs. That said, this 2024 version of the Seattle Seahawks is definitely the fightingest group the franchise has put together since the early Legion of Boom years.

Yesterday at the VMAC there were five fights between the offensive and defensive units, with most of the action between wide receivers and cornerbacks, as has been the case throughout camp. After it was over head coach Mike Macdonald went on NFL Network and talked about what happened. Among other things, Macdonald says DK Metcalf spoke with the team afterwards and ended things on a positive note.

Whatever else happens this year, it's clear that Macdonald has a high tolerance for scuffling at practice. While for the most part Macdonald's coaching style seems like a departure from the Pete Carroll era, he shares this trait his predecessor. Only time will tell if winning is another thing they have in common.
