Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles announced his retirement from the NFL on Thursday.

After spending 11 seasons in the NFL playing for seven different teams, the one-time Pro Bowl selection and Super Bowl LII MVP is calling it a career.

Foles spent the 2022 season with the Colts, which was the last time he played a regular season game in the NFL.

Though the Colts started the season with Matt Ryan as the starting quarterback, the incredible struggles led to the firing of head coach Frank Reich halfway through the season.

Just before Reich was fired, Ryan was benched due to a shoulder injury, and it was announced that Sam Ehlinger would be the starter. After Reich was fired, Ryan became the starter again under interim head coach Jeff Saturday.

However, following the Colts' historic loss against the Minnesota Vikings when they blew a 33-0 lead , Saturday named Foles the starter for the final three games of the season.

Foles made two starts before he was injured on a sack against the New York Giants in Week 17. The Colts released Foles during the following offseason.

A former third-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft with the Philadelphia Eagles , Foles spent three seasons in Philly before he was traded to the St. Louis Rams in 2015.

During his second season and his ninth-career start, Foles tied the single-game NFL record for touchdown passes (seven) in 2013.

He's best known for leading the Eagles through the playoffs to a Super Bowl LII victory after replacing starter Carson Wentz, who suffered a torn ACL in Week 14.

Foles also spent time with the St. Louis Rams (2015), Kansas City Chiefs (2016), Eagles (2017-2018), Jacksonville Jaguars (2019) and Chicago Bears (2020-2021).
