Stephen Curry Compared to Short-Shorts Legend

Stephen Curry is one of the best players of all time. As the sole unanimous MVP in NBA history, and a winner of four NBA championships, you'd think he didn't need comparisons to other players. However, Team USA head coach Steve Kerr managed to compare Curry to the NBA's all-time leader in assists, John Stockton.

While Curry and Stockton are both Hall-of-Fame level players, they plays two entirely different games. Yet, Kerr's brilliant basketbal mind saw an aspect they both share.

“It’s something we thought of immediately when we put the team together because Steph is like the modern-day John Stockton,” Kerr said. “He’s the best screening point guard in the league in my mind. He’s so physical, he’s so strong. People don’t really think of him for that, but teams are terrified of leaving him. So if he can set a screen and hold it, it’s going to free somebody up. And then obviously LeBron is LeBron, so it’s a good action for him."

Although Curry isn't perceived as an overly physical guard, he's one of his position who constantly runs through screens and finish with a hand in his face. Curry's off-ball persistence alone speak to his endurance. Moreover, Kerr's comments regarding the Golden State Warriors superstar screen-setting abilities showcase Curry's selflessness.

Team USA faces Serbia for the third time in the past month, with the final showdown in the Olympic semifinals. Expect Curry and LeBron James to run their "too small" action a few teams against the physcial Serbian team.
