The U.S. National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a weather advisory for the Mojave Desert Slopes and higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada, with elevated winds and a slight chance of thunderstorms expected this evening through tomorrow morning.

West and southwesterly winds will increase overnight, with gusts potentially exceeding 45 mph in the Mojave Desert Slopes. Some gusts may reach up to 50 mph, posing a risk to unsecured objects, which could be blown around. Tree limbs could also be knocked down, leading to possible power outages.

Additionally, tropical moisture from the Southwest will bring a slight chance (10-15%) of showers and thunderstorms in the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada this afternoon. The advisory is in effect from 5 PM this afternoon through 5 AM PDT Friday.
