The six-time Olympic medalist jumped on an Olympics internet trend after she took a tumble off the balance beam, ending her chances of a podium finish in that event.

“Unfortunately I was selected for the Olympics,” she captioned a video of her painful-looking fall on TikTok .

People have been posting funny sports fail videos and joking that they didn’t make the cut for the Olympics. The wipeout clips are generally accompanied by a remixed version of the U.S. national anthem called “Star Spangled (Bass Boosted),” the same music that Lee used.

“So unfortunately i was not chosen for the usa 24 olympic diving team,” reads the caption on one viral clip of a tragic attempt at a dive.

    Fans loved Lee’s self-deprecating post.

“Suni wins this trend,” one wrote .

Other commenters told her she nabbed the “gold medal for this trend” and “you’re so iconic for posting this.”

“GOLD MEDAL FOR THE SENSE OF HUMOR,” said another.

Lee won bronze in the all-around and uneven bars finals and gold in the team event in Paris. After struggling last year with two serious kidney disease diagnoses, she’s said that being at the Olympics again at all has been her greatest achievement.
