Breaking: Luke Bryan Announces Long-Awaited Eighth Album ‘Mind Of a Country Boy’

Luke Bryan revealed Thursday that his highly anticipated new album, Mind Of a Country Boy, is just weeks away.

Mind of a Country Boy, Bryan‘s eighth studio album, will be available September 27.

To bring it to life, he returned to his favorite powerhouse father-son production team, Jeff and Jody Stevens.

“I’ve been able to take my time and really compile songs,” Bryan said. “If it’s a song that I cut two or three years ago, and I still love it, and it still sounds fresh, then I feel like it’ll stand the test of time.”

The album is home to Bryan’s current hit single “Love You, Miss You, Mean It,” as well as Top 5 hits “But I Got a Beer In My Hand” and “Country On.”

Other songs on the album include the title track, “Mind of a Country Boy,” which Bryan co-wrote with Dallas Davidson, Ben Hayslip, and Rhett Akins. The song is just what the title says: an inside look at the inner thoughts of the mind of a country boy.

Bryan also shared that the new song, “Closing Time In California,” is available now. The song is a relatable heartbreaker about lovers separated by time zones and ambition. Bryan sings about waking up in Tennessee while his partner is going to bed on the West Coast.

Luke Bryan Co-Wrote Two of the 14 Songs

Mind of a Country Boy is 14 songs strong and will be released during Bryan’s 2024 Farm Tour, which includes stops in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio. The tour is Bryan’s 15th official run to play farming communities in rural America, and proceeds go to support the communities that host the shows. The Farm Tour will cap Bryan’s touring year with only one show remaining in 2024 following his last farm date on Sept. 28.

But Luke Bryan is excited for fans to hear these songs.

“I think this album, as I’ve tried to do with all my albums, just has a little bit of everything,” Bryan said. “I do some things different vocally on this one that I’ve not done before. It’s about each song having its place and meaning. It’s trying not to be overly redundant with songs. I think that’s why I’ve been blessed to have a long career and what I feel like this album’s going to do.”
