However, Gearbox founder and CEO Randy Pitchford spoke to IGN in an interview about the same. He made it clear that he definitely wants to see another movie happen.

In the interview, he said, “One of the cool things about the movie is we’ve created a cinematic universe that lives side by side with the video game universe. And, of course, the characters are there and authentic in the themes and even some of the storylines. But they’re independent storylines.” Further, he added, “I really hope there’s more than one movie. I think it’s reasonable to imagine that we will start talking about the next Borderlands movie here. Maybe before the end of the year, we’ll see. Maybe sooner.”
