For years, basketball fans yearned for LeBron James and Stephen Curry to team up. This year, their wish has finally been granted as the two legends opted to represent their country at the Paris Olympics.

James is one of the frontrunners to win the tournament MVP award despite being the oldest player on the roster. On the other hand, Curry was seemingly facing first-time jitters of playing for his country at the Olympics until the semifinals vs. Serbia.

In a James-Curry masterclass, Team USA erased a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Nikola Jokic and Co. 95-91 and clinch a spot in the gold medal game against France.

Viral moment ft. Curry and LeBron

With LeBron and Steph nearing the end of their legendary careers, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans to witness the two on the court together. Naturally, they are expected to lead the squad to a gold medal.

However, Team USA was almost shattered by Nikola Jokic’s Serbia in the second semifinal matchup of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Luckily, Curry and Bron took over in the fourth quarter to avoid (arguably) the biggest upset in the history of international basketball.

Seconds after the final buzzer, James and Curry were seen celebrating, causing a frenzy among NBA fans on X (formerly known as Twitter), who loved the viral moment between the two legends.

    The "Chef Curry" show

LeBron finished the game with a triple-double, but without Curry’s nuclear three-point shooting, Team USA could have lost the game.

The Golden State Warriors superstar finished the night with 36 points, eight rebounds, and two assists in 33 minutes of playing time. He shot 12-19 from the field, including 9-14 from the 3-point line.

Many were waiting for Curry to go off in his first-ever Olympics, and the four-time NBA champion didn’t disappoint. After a slow start to the tournament, the 10x NBA All-Star led his squad to a semifinal victory that will most likely hold a special place in his heart.

Now, the 36-year-old guard will hope to add a gold medal to the list of his legendary accolades on August 10, 2024, against Victor Wembanayama’s France in a highly anticipated game.
