'Sick & Tired!' Emmitt Rips Cowboys on Dak & CeeDee: 'Fan Fatigue!'

Emmitt Smith loves his Dallas Cowboys. But he hates what's happening - or not happening - with the team slow to signing quarterback Dak Prescott and receiver CeeDee Lamb to contract extensions.

And the NFL's all-time leading rusher has just coined a phrase to describe it.

'It's like fan fatigue now,” Smith said.

The Hall-of-Famer is talking about a bigger picture here, about a 30-year Super Bowl drought. But front-burner right now? Just as team owner Jerry Jones on Thursday afternoon at training camp in Oxnard that he feels "no urgency'' to do a deal with Lamb? (And, it would logically follow, with Dak?)

“(Lamb) is a very, very valuable asset to the Dallas Cowboys,” Smith told SB Nation . “He is a very, very valuable asset to Dak. ... (Prescott) should be in a position, as your franchise quarterback ... to be successful. And right now you putting him behind the eight ball, and that is not right. That's how I see it.”

Would signing Dak and CeeDee suddenly solve the Super Bowl problem? Maybe not. But it would solve an issue that Emmitt thinks exists between the Joneses and Cowboys Nation.

“Over the last 20-some odd years, watching our team get to the playoffs time and time again, being told that we're going to do better, this is going to be a Super Bowl year for us, and we just get completely let down ...,'' he said. “It's all of that going on right now. And people are sick and tired of watching it. ...

"To me, I think there's a little disconnect there. And we need to resolve that fairly quickly because 20-some odd years, man, that's a long time."

Jerry Jones doesn't care if his team goes to the Superbowl or not either way his going to make his money. the cowboys could be the worst team in the NFL and yet Jerry Jones is still going to make his money why that is your still going to buy tickets to home games your still going to buy the merchandise the NFL is ran as a business not a sport league

funny to me all you folks that aren't from Dallas be quiet or find another team... Jerry has never done anything... but as far as Dak and Lamb are concerned they can Walk... these fb players have become soft.. piss on them... let Lamb sit out a year and watch his next contract and his game go to $hitand Dak is a bigger bum than Romo let him walk next season
