    Caroline County Residents Can Dispose of Storm Debris for Free

    Caroline County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Caroline County residents can dispose of any debris from Thursday’s severe weather for free. In a statement , Caroline County officials said the county has declared a Storm Debris Emergency due to the “significant” amount of debris in the area.

    At least 10 homes in Caroline were damaged and multiple trees were downed Thursday evening as a result of a reported tornado.

    County residents and contractors will be able to dispose of storm debris for free at the Bowling Green Solid Waste Convenience Site during regular business hours.

    Free disposal of storm debris will be accepted through Aug. 25.

    The site will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. It will be closed on Wednesday, and open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, the site will be open from 1 to 5 p.m.

    All tornado watches have been canceled, but a flood watch remains in effect for parts of central Virginia through Friday evening.
