PATRICK Mahomes might be the best football player on the planet.

But even the three-time Super Bowl champion has his limits.

The Kansas City Chiefs shared a video of their superstar quarterback having a go at playing linebacker.

He lined up opposite a coach as fourth-string signal caller Ian Book went under center.

Mahomes tried to put some pressure on but could not shed his blocker.

He jumped to try to get a hand on the pass but couldn’t make a play, so he wheeled away laughing.

The Chiefs captioned their video , “Technique needs work tbh” with a crying laughing emoji.

“Linebacker 1 from Texas Tech,” replied one fan.

“This guy,” added another with a laughing emoji.

“Let’s get it red kingdom,” a third wrote.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid says Mahomes will feature in their first preseason game.

The Chiefs will play the Jacksonville Jaguars at TIAA Bank Stadium tomorrow.

Fans should expect to see Mahomes and Travis Kelce in the first quarter.

“As far as the play time for this game, we’ll go the ones for a quarter,” said Reid.

“Twos for the second quarter, threes the third quarter, and fours for the fourth quarter, and we’ll just keep it at that.”

Mahomes is looking forward to getting some playing time in the first game of the preseason.

Patrick Mahomes earns over $50 million per season from his Kansas City Chiefs contract.

But the superstar quarterback also cashes in on his brand off the field.

Mahomes has a reported net worth of $70 million.

And that’s in no small part down to some of the brand he endorses.

The Chiefs star is the face of Adidas in the United States and appears in State Farm commercials.

He also pops up on adverts for Subway and Head and Shoulders.

Mahomes also became the face of energy drink Prime, which is owned by Logan Paul and KSI.

“It’s cool, I like playing in the preseason, honestly,” Mahomes said.

“Make sure we’re doing stuff in the right way and getting out keeping everybody healthy and playing the sport that I love.

“Hopefully, we can go out there and play a good football game.

“I always want to get hit, but not hit hard. A little nudge, that’s all I need.”

Reid is confident the offense will pick up right where it left off after winning a second straight Super Bowl.

“Listen, I allow him (Mahomes) to get into the swing of things. The ones know how to do that, both sides of the ball,” Reid said.

“Somewhere you’ve got to get on there and shoot and that gives him an opportunity to do that.”
