Undeclared Allergens In Recalled Chocolate Bars

The recall announcement details why the chocolate bars are being pulled from shelves. "The recall was initiated after it was discovered that batches of Marabou Seat Salt [chocolate bars] contained almonds, wheat, and nuts outside of its allergen profile." The FDA noted individuals that have allergies to these ingredients "run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions" if consumed.

Allergic reactions may present themselves in a variety of different ways depending on severity. While some people may get itchy or watery eyes, a runny nose, or hives, others may experience stomach cramps, vomiting, chest tightness, or even the closing of the throat.
