    First-ever Belltown Mural Festival begins this week

    mural high ground here, but Seattle art fans may get a kick out of Belltown’s new, free mural festival beginning this week.

    The Belltown Mural Festival seeks to re-energize the downtown community and give local artists a place to shine through a series of live paintings, happy hours, and walking tours of the neighborhood’s public art pieces.


    Tuesday, Aug. 13-Sunday, Aug. 18, attendees can observe featured artists like Stevie Shao , Myron Curry , and Paul Nunn as they create in real time.

    Catch these murals in action all week , but don’t miss other events like:

    Mural Happy Hour | Tuesday, Aug. 13 | 5-7 p.m. | Screwdriver Bar | Celebrate the festival’s start with a drink and some mingling.

    Paint Jam + Street Festival | Friday, Aug. 16 + Saturday, Aug. 17 | Various times | Bell Street Park | Watch murals materialize before your very eyes while vibing to live music.
