HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Hartford Police arrest a city man in connection with the hit-and-run crash that killed a man early Sunday morning.

Police say Clarence Cross of Hartford was driving a Toyota minivan around 6:11 a.m. on Sunday when it struck a Jeep SUV at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Adelaide Street.

The woman driving the Jeep, identified as Tonyque Davis, 23, of Portland, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Cross, who police say fled the scene with the passengers in the minivan, was quickly developed as a suspect.

He was arrested Sunday night and charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, evading responsibility involving death, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without a license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and illegal operation of a motor vehicle without insurance.
