Team USA men's basketball prevailed over France to win its fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris over the weekend, with no small thanks to Steph Curry . And it seems as though the country has taken to heart at being beaten on its own home turf.

Following the heartbreaking loss, McDonald’s France took to social media to throw shade on the 36-year-old point guard by threatening to remove a popular dipping sauce from its menu.

"For obvious reasons, we are considering removing this sauce," McDonald’s France posted on Instagram," along with a photo of the chain's Classic Curry Sauce. The sauce, which is not available in the United States, is described as a "sweet and sharp tasting sauce with a fruity apricot flavor and delicate spices."

"For 4 years minimum," the post added in a caption, which has been translated.

Curry was instrumental in clinching the 98–87 victory over France, contributing 24 points to the win, including four 3-pointers in the final three minutes of the fourth quarter. He scored his final 3-pointer with just 33 seconds left on the clock, putting USA up by nine points and effectively calling the game against France, which left with the silver medal.

"There's just a lot of faith, living and dying with the shots you think you should take," Curry told reporters after the game. "The last two-and-a-half minutes were special. Guys were hyping me up. We had confidence in what we were trying to do. And I was just really present in the moment, enjoying myself."
