Golden Retriever Learns to 'Tackle' Dad From the Most Unexpected Teacher

If your dog isn't practicing their WWE wresting skills on you, there's something wrong. There is nothing most dogs love more than horsing around, which often involves pouncing on their favorite humans.

As much fun as it is, the art of pouncing is definitely a learned skill. On Saturday, August 10th, one dog dad showed off exactly how his Golden Retriever learned to leap, and it's just about the funniest thing ever:

Hugo the Malamute is the funniest teacher ever. With the way his brother flies through the air at their dad, full-speed, everyone can just tell that he's so proud!

Hugo's tackle-happy brother is named Barry. He's still a puppy, which means his brain is still mushy and moldable. This time in a puppy's life is crucial: it's when they pick up their good habits, like going potty outside or going for walks. However, there's also an equal chance they'll pick up their weird and bad habits during this time, too.

Barry sure did. Hugo loves to tackle his dad at all times, especially in greeting and when he gets very excited. He does know time and place, and he doesn't jump on guests, but Barry has yet to fully get that memo. But even so, he's really good at jumping! Look at that boy!

Do Dogs Really Learn From Each Other?

Dogs pick up bad habits, it's just a part of life. They learn very quickly about what they can get away with, and they take that and run with it. Only-dogs have to navigate this on their own, which can take a little more time, but dogs with siblings reap the benefits right away.

Dogs often learn by watching, and this includes watching other dogs. That's why having two is beneficial for training purposes. They watch the older dog complete commands and get rewarded, and they try to replicate that. At the same time, if your dog sees your other dog doing something they shouldn't and not getting caught, they'll follow along.

Even though you'll want to keep your dogs separate at times to prevent jealousy, it's important that you maintain the same expectations for all of the dogs in your home. If you let things slide for one, the other(s) will expect the same treatment!

As Barry gets older, he'll get bigger and be less able to rocket-launch himself at his dad's head like he can now. Until then, though, they're just dealing with it and being happy he's not doing it to guests!
