Padre Island Drive eastbound at 3:38 a.m. in response to reports of shots fired, according to a press release from the Corpus Christi Police Department. Upon arrival, officers spotted a silver pickup truck leaving the scene and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, prompting a pursuit.While the chase ensued, other officers conducted a welfare check at the original location and discovered over 30 rifle casings along the sidewalk and in the grass. No injuries were reported.The pursuit was eventually terminated for safety reasons, and the abandoned vehicle was later found in the area of Culver Street and Darcey Drive. The occupants of the vehicle remain unidentified and were not located.It is currently unknown if the parties involved were acquainted with each other. The investigation is ongoing.
