It comes down to, 'Do you instruct you're child to use their phone responsibly, and do they adhere to those rules? I think it's important these days, i.e. with school violence, bad school employees, that our kids have access to their phones at all times. But that also means they can't be using them to play games and socialize during class time. Are your kids going to listen to your rules? If not, then maybe this is why these new rules are happening. I'm raising my granddaughter, and she always has her phone nearby, but she knows if she breaks my rules and gets caught screwing off with her phone, then she has to deal with the consequences. I will hear the story on both sides and make my responsible judgment call. How well do you know your kids?
