New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge hit a three-run homer on Wednesday to become the fastest player in baseball history to reach 300 career long balls.

With his three-run shot in the eighth inning against the host Chicago White Sox, Judge reached the milestone in his 955th regular season game and one day past the eighth anniversary of his major league debut. He eclipsed the mark previously set by Hall of Famer and former New York Mets broadcaster Ralph Kiner, who reached 300 homers in his 1,087th game.

Judge became the 162nd player all-time to reach 300 homers and the 17th player to reach the mark while playing for the Yankees. His homer total ranks 13th among active players.

With the Yankees already holding a 6-2 lead and following an intentional walk to Juan Soto, Judge lifted a 3-0 pitch from Chad Kuhl into the back of Chicago's bullpen in left field.

"I was mad about the intentional walk, so that kind of fueled (me)," Judge said. "Usually 3-0, I'll take a pitch, see a pitch, kind of pass it on to the next guy. But in that situation, if they don't want to pitch to you, you got to come through."

The Yankees won the game 10-2.
