The Prince of Wales is currently under immense strain as he stands by his wife during her recovery, while also trying to shield their three young children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis . A royal expert has now claimed William "desperately needs" Prince Harry , but it's evident that the relationship between the once "very, very close-knit" brothers remains strained, with a "tense" 22-word statement hinting that mending the rift will take time.
Royal commentator Sarah Hewson has suggested that the frosty relations between the siblings are unlikely to warm up in the near future, with William now fully in "protection mode" for his young family. It's believed that Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were not informed about Kate's diagnosis before she bravely shared her news in a video statement.

Kate lauded her husband for being an incredible pillar of strength and reassurance, sharing that they've been handling the situation away from the public eye for their children's sake. The Sussexes issued a heartfelt message, stating: "We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace."
On Times Radio, Hewson expressed her belief that Harry and Meghan have since reached out privately to Princess Kate. Yet, she pointed out that Harry has previously made some "pretty cruel things" about the mother-of-three, both in his bombshell memoir Spare and in the Netflix series Harry & Meghan, which complicates any potential reconciliation.
In Spare, Harry claimed Kate had made his wife cry due to an argument over bridesmaid dresses. In another entry, Harry pointed out that Kate had once "grimaced" after Meghan asked to lend her lip-gloss.

Hewson also said: "You can only think how desperately William would need his brother right now as a support and that relationship just isn't there." This comes amid a tumultuous time for the royals, with King Charles and Sarah Ferguson also facing cancer diagnoses this year.
Princess Kate has acknowledged that her health battle is still ongoing and said she is "not out the woods yet". In a statement, she said: "I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.
"On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."
