The Albemarle Police Department invites residents to take the “Community Survey on Public Safety & Law Enforcement.”

The survey takes a few minutes to complete, and the responses are kept confidential. Participation can help APD improve its services and processes.

The survey gathers opinions and experiences from members of our community and assesses community involvement, safety, procedural justice, performance, contact and satisfaction. Survey participants are asked to answer the questions thinking only about the Albemarle Police Department and not any other law enforcement agencies.

“The Albemarle Police Department embraces community policing and that means connecting with the people we serve is critical. I want to thank in advance our residents for taking the time to share their feedback and helping us improve,” Albemarle Police Chief Jason Bollhorst said.

Participants may skip any survey item they do not feel comfortable answering or if the question presented does not apply to them. Survey takers are asked to answer each question honestly, as there are no right or wrong answers.

The “Community Survey on Public Safety & Law Enforcement,” which the Albemarle Police Department is using, was developed by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, with the support of ICF International and law enforcement experts.

Visit www.albemarlenc.gov/apdsurvey to complete the survey.

Printed copies of the survey are available at the Albemarle Police Department Headquarters, 155 W. South St., Albemarle, and Albemarle City Hall, 144 N. 2nd St., Albemarle.

Completed surveys should be returned by 5 p.m. Sept. 5.
