“I have melasma, and my dermatologist says, ‘Don’t even walk across the street without sunscreen on,'” she told Oprah Daily of her SPF. “It’s the number one thing you have to use.”
And while there’s no shortage of SPF products on the market, the under-$50 beauty buy broke through the noise for Page Six Style Senior Writer/Editor Melissa Minton .
“It’s really hard to make a sunscreen that’s not only effective but enjoyable to wear, and The Outset’s is just that,” she raves, saying she’s worn it “every day to work, whereas before I always forgot to put on sunscreen for glammed-up days.”
“I’ve never tried a 100% mineral sunscreen that is truly sheer before — and the best part is, it goes on super smooth, then dries down to an almost tacky primer-like consistency that actually makes my makeup look better,” she adds. “I can’t say enough good things about this SPF.”
Johansson’s on the same page when it comes to using the sunblock for glammed-up outings; she’s swiped some on for red carpets around the world, including her recent “Fly Me To the Moon” premiere in Berlin.
“I keep this one in the shower to use in the mornings while relying on more exfoliating products in the evening,” Contino says, adding that she also likes the brand’s bestselling Firming Vegan Collagen Prep Serum ($46) for “a nice basic plumping serum at a great price point.”
With Johansson continuing to develop new products — including her brand’s Cool Cream Smoothing Mask ($44) — one thing’s for sure; when it comes to this brand’s growth, this is likely just the outset.
