Canada's largest Asian grocery store is opening first California location at a former Walmart site

T&T Supermarket Inc., Canada's leading Asian grocery retailer, is set to open its first California store at Westgate Center in San Jose in Fall 2025. The 55,000-square-foot store will be located at the intersection of Saratoga Avenue and Prospect Road, in the former Walmart location. This marks T&T's third U.S. store announcement, with two other locations planned in Washington.

T&T, known for its authentic Asian products and unique shopping experience, will offer Bay Area residents a wide array of options, including a BBQ counter, dim sum, noodle station, and an in-store bakery featuring mochi puffs, egg tarts, and customized cakes. The store will also introduce Californians to T&T's signature Private Label products, such as pineapple cakes and Taiwanese sausages.

Tina Lee, CEO of T&T Supermarkets, expressed excitement about the new store, highlighting its role as a destination for food lovers and a place for community connection. "San Jose is a very special place to me," Lee said, noting personal ties to the area. The developer, Federal Realty, sees T&T as a dynamic addition to Westgate Center, enhancing the shopping experience for the diverse Bay Area community.
