A recent study by Upgraded Points analyzed TSA Contact Center Complaint data from 2015 to 2023, revealing which U.S. airports receive the most and least complaints from passengers. The study highlights that security checks, a high-stress part of air travel, can significantly vary depending on the airport. Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) topped the list with 6.83 complaints per 100,000 passengers, while Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) had the fewest complaints with 1.97 per 100,000 passengers.

The study also identified that complaint rates spike during the holiday season, particularly in December, October, and November, with over 1,400 complaints recorded daily during these months. In contrast, January and February are the least stressful months, showing a noticeable drop in complaints as fewer travelers pass through airport security.

This analysis provides valuable insights for travelers about the airports where they might face more or less frustration during security checks, especially during peak travel times.
