Major Mt Pleasant PD Drug Bust

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE MPPD Narcotics Investigation August 15, 2024 24-18987 On Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, at approximately 7:15 AM, Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) officers and detectives responded to a Deadly Conduct/Shots Fired call-for-service in the area of Private Road 3015. During that investigation, MPPD obtained and served a search warrant on an involved residence. During the execution of that search warrant, detectives seized over half a pound of cocaine, 2 ounces of heroin, and 8 firearms. Rony Almendez (33) was arrested for Deadly Conduct and Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Damaso Rojas-Hernandez (42) was arrested for Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Melby Antunez-Ortega was arrested for Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Failure to Identify, Disorderly Conduct, and an outstanding arrest warrant. There were also two other individuals arrested on non-narcotic related charges. Each of these individuals was booked into the Titus County Jail.
