The Tennessee Titans , a team that is already short on depth options along the defensive line, took another blow on Thursday. Paul Kuharsky is reporting defensive tackle Marlon Davidson is likely out for the year after suffering a biceps tear in training camp .

Davidson was listed as the backup defensive tackle behind Jeffery Simmons on the Titans unofficial depth chart released earlier in the week. Tennessee found something in Davidson last year with the Auburn product playing in the team's final five games. He finished the season with 10 tackles (six solo), two tackles for loss, and one sack.

While losing Davidson certainly hurts, it's not the end of the world. With Davidson out, an opportunity to earn a significant role in the trenches is now up for grabs.

T.K. McLendon is one candidate for the open role. He played in seven games, starting in two with Tennessee last season. McLendon tallied eight tackles (three solo) and one fumble recovery. Keandre Coburn is another player who could fill the void after an exciting performance in the preseason opener against the 49ers with two tackles, including a sack he split with Khalid Duke.

Interior defensive line depth now becomes something to monitor as the Titans move forward in training camp. Though the team has in-house options available, it wouldn't be surprising if general manager Ran Carthon seeks an answer outside the building after final cutdown day on August 27.
