Freshman Wideout Making 'Solid Move' In Fall Camp

With most of fall camp now in the books, TJ Moore is starting to settle in with the rest of the Clemson offense.

Unlike fellow freshman wideout Bryant Wesco, who was an early enrollee, Moore just arrived on campus in May, meaning he is having a lot thrown at him in a short amount of time.

While Moore still has more to learn as far as picking up the overall offense, head coach Dabo Swinney noted the former 5-star’s talent has started to shine through on the practice field.

“He’s making a solid move,” Swinney said after Thursday’s scrimmage. “He’s still not quite where the first-tier guys are from a knowledge standpoint but he is a natural.”

And his competitive fire is also starting to show, even on the plays he fails to make.

“He had an opportunity on one today that he didn’t make that he’d like to have back, it was a competitive play,” Swinney added. “(Branden) Strozier did a great job of getting it out.”

Moore was one of the top receivers in the 2024 recruiting class, totaling more than 1,200 receiving yards as a senior at Tampa Catholic. He had 17 TDs and averaged 25.4 yards per catch.

His ability to stretch the field is just one of many reasons why Moore was so coveted coming out of high school, and his addition to the receiver room adds a dynamic to the Tigers’ offense that has been missing in recent seasons.

“He’s just gotten better and better every single day,” Swinney said. “And I think you will continue to see that.”
