Samsung is ‘greatest of all time’ over free TV trick as obsessed fan shares how it’ll save them $25 a month on bills

SAMSUNG fans are raving over a way to get free TV shows on their devices.

It works if you own a Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablets – or one of the company's TVs.

The feature is called Samsung TV Plus, and it's entirely free streaming service that fans are obsessed with.

Some Samsung owners even admitted that they didn't realize the app existed.

Samsung TV Plus is like Netflix or a cable TV service, but it doesn't charge anything.

Instead, you'll pay your dues by watching commercials shown by the live TV channels.

Samsung TV Plus has more than 2,500 channels across 24 countries.

And it also serves up "thousands" of movies and shows on-demand.

Writing on Reddit, a Samsung TV Plus fan raved: "It has so many options for shows.

"I'm genuinely considering cancelling my other streaming services (Hulu and Amazon)."

They continued: "It's hands down better than any cable I've had in my entire life!"

The post added: "Samsung is the greatest of all time for this," and finished: "Samsung TV Plus is the bees freaking knees."

Hulu with Ads currently costs $9.99 a month, while Amazon Prime will set you back $14.99 a month.

So that person may be saving nearly $25 just by switching away to Samsung TV Plus.

Even if the person had a Prime Video-only subscription for $8.99 a month, it would still be a $19 saving.

Other users joined in with praising Samsung's TV offering.

It has been a nice surprise with my purchase.

Another said: "I pressed it by accident the other day and I love this service! Not sure how long it’s been on my TV but wish I discovered it sooner.

"And I really like the 'show is a channel' concept. So far I’ve left it on the Kitchen Nightmares (1241) channel for the past 48 hours lol."

One wrote: "They have so many good channels I’ve been using it for years! Love that it stays on whatever channel you last had it on as well."

Another added: "I’m with you. I like having the TV on low in the background and I love that I can just throw it on American Pickers channel or whatever I feel like watching. It has been a nice surprise with my purchase."

Stream swapping – the easy way to cut your bills?

Here's what Sean Keach, The Sun's Head of Technology and Science, thinks...

It's no secret that TV streaming apps are costing more and more.

Not only are prices shooting up, but we find ourselves asked to pay for an increasing number of apps and services.

And when you combine those TV bills with your music streaming, mobile and internet fees, and every other drain on your bank account, it all starts to get a bit much.

One of the best ways to cut your TV bills is to simply cancel all of your streaming subscriptions and only sign up to one per month.

Pick an app like Netflix, Disney+, or Apple TV+ and smash through all of the content you want to watch on that app.

Then the next month, swap to something else.

And once you've done them all, you can cycle back to the start again.

It's an easy way to avoid forking out for a rolling library of streaming apps with more content than you could possibly watch.

Also don't forget that paid-for streaming isn't the only game in town.

There are loads of apps that don't cost a penny to enjoy, and downloading a few will unlock thousands of live TV channels plus tens of thousands of movies and shows.

Try apps like Tubi, Amazon Freevee, The Roku Channel, Plex, and Pluto TV to get some ad-supported television without having to pay any monthly fees.

And one noted: "Love it. Watch movies on there all the time. Also use it for the dogs when we leave to have some noise going."

The service is constantly expanding, so you might find new content each time you check back.

Samsung explains: "Your Samsung devices come with Samsung TV Plus – Samsung’s free ad-supported Smart TV video service, delivering instant access to news, sports, entertainment, and more.

"No subscription, additional device, or credit card needed."

If you're using a smartphone, simply go to the Galaxy Store or Google Play store and download Samsung TV Plus.

And for Samsung TV owners, the app should be built into the television as standard.

You don't need to create an account to watch, but you'll get extra features if you do.

For instance, an account allows you to "continue watching" a show, favorite channels, set watch reminders, and create watchlists.

I recently bought a Damsung smart TV. It's the second app listed in the preprogrammed list.
