Over the last two years, Joseph Ngata has been a preseason hero of sorts for the Philadelphia Eagles . On Thursday night, the was once again the star of the show.

In Philadelphia's 14-13 win over the New England Patriots, the former undrafted free agent out of Clemson caught five passes for 88 yards and showed to be Tanner McKee's top receiving prospect in the second half.

As Ngata looks to show he belongs at the NFL level, the 23-year-old out of Reno native has developed a close friendship with All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown.

It's Brown who has helped Ngata control his emotions while also playing at a high level.

"I'm just really emotional," Ngata told the Philadelphia Inquirer after the win. "I love football, sometimes I can be over the top. ... We had a talk yesterday and two other talks today, he just helped me calm down a little bit."

Brown has had several questions surrounding his leadership come out as part of his concern for the Eagles' 2024 chances. It's clear though that the locker room perception of Brown is not the same as it is outside of the team facility, though.

His work with Ngata may help him get on the practice squad, but it shows that the Eagles locker room is a lot closer in 2024 than it was the year prior.
