Watch Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Others Honor Legendary Band, Alabama

Blake Shelton , Brad Paisley , Jason Aldean, Jamey Johnson and others delivered heartfelt tributes to Alabama during a CMT Giants special in the band’s honor. The special premiered on Thursday evening (August 15).

Band members Randy Owen , Teddy Gentry remembered Jeff Cook , who died in November 2022 , who they took the stage to reflect on their decades-long career. The Country Music Hall of Fame members formed in Fort Payne, Alabama, and became known for hits like “Song of the South,” “Mountain Music,” “I’m in a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why),” “Tennessee River,” “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band),” “Born Country,” “Dixieland Delight” and many more over the years.

The lineup included Blake Shelton ft. Steve Wariner , Brad Paisley , Jamey Johnson , Jason Aldean , Little Big Town , Old Dominion , Pam Tillis & Lorrie Morgan , Riley Green , and Sam Hunt , CMT previously confirmed. Evander Holyfield , Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan , Martina McBride , Vince Gill also paid tribute to the legendary band. CMT will air several encore showings of CMT Giants: Alabama through the end of August. The next one is set for Saturday (August 17) at noon ET/11 a.m. CT.
