WATCH: Brady Takes Shot at Giants' Jones

While New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones prepares for Saturday’s preseason contest against the Houston Texans – his first game action since tearing his ACL in Week 9 of last season – he went viral.

At Fanatics Fest, a collection of athletes and celebrities in New York City, former New England Patriots quarterback got to discussing frustration after throwing an interception, and how his personal habits will have to change as he heads to the broadcasting booth.

He then invoked Jones, who struggled mightily last season, in an initially innocent example.

When the crowd gave him a chuckle, he leaned into the criticism of New York’s quarterback.

"But I don't want to be so critical. Because in some ways I don't necessarily know exactly what the problem was on that play if, let's say, Daniel Jones throws an interception," Brady said.

The crowd laughed, speculating that Jones came to mind because of his struggles and otherwise turnover-prone play. He threw six interceptions in as many games last year.

"I didn't say it like that! I wasn't even being critical of Daniel Jones! Maybe I was a little bit," Brady joked.

The New York faithful seemed split on the jab, some defending their quarterback by any means necessary and others using it as proof that the Giants need a new passer under center.

Whether the reason for Brady’s joke, it caught Giants fans’ attention and will keep him on their radar as he enters his first season as an NFL broadcaster.
