Roosevelt New Orleans to host 75th annual “Stormin’ of the Sazerac”

The Roosevelt New Orleans will host their 75th annual "Stormin’ of the Sazerac” on Friday, September 27th, 2024. This annual event features a luncheon, fashion show and a second line to recreate of the real-life “storming” of the Sazerac Bar.

This one-of-a-kind celebration pays tribute to the empowered group of women who stormed the Sazerac Bar in 1949 demanding equality and a stiff drink. This event made the Sazerac Bar the first bar in New Orleans to allow women on days other than Mardi Gras.

“Stormin' of the Sazerac” encompasses libations, cuisine and entertainment, including:

• A ladies-only three course luncheon
• Complimentary welcome beverage
• Cash bar
• Live entertainment
• Juried best-dressed competition

This year’s event will be emceed by WDSU news anchor Sula Kim and will take place in the hotel’s famous Blue Room and the world-renowned Sazerac Bar.
