Debra Mae Carter, 65, was sentenced to life in prison for her role in the money laundering scheme on July 30, 2024.Carter laundered the funds through fake charities, rental homes, and land.Together the pair scammed over 170 people out of more than $31 million.Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney Lori Varnell referred to Carter as, "a blight on society" and I must agree.Elderly people trusted these two because they used a platform that made them appear to be good, honest Christians. It's beyond disgusting.Now, many of these people are suffering the consequences of trusting two charlatans. One woman who testified during the sentencing hearing lost her ability to pay off her mortgage, and will now be making house payments until she dies.<h2>Historic Texas Buildings That Were Destroyed</h2>Sometimes to only way to get rid of buildings is to destroy them (in a proper controlled demolition) &amp; Texas has gotten rid of plenty of historic buildings.</div></body>
