Mission Restaurant Group closed its Jolly Pumpkin brewpub at 428 Bridge St. NW last month and has converted it to a new concept called Pide & Stick . However, Jolly Pumpkin isn’t gone forever. The group appears to be working on an undisclosed location in East Grand Rapids to re-enter West Michigan’s craft beer scene. This news was first seen in Crain’s Grand Rapids .

According to Crain’s, while there is no signed lease at this stage, Mission Restaurant Group is looking to revive the Jolly Pumpkin concept in the Grand Rapids metro area and that the company is “considering an undisclosed location in East Grand Rapids.”

Dave Crawford , CEO of Mission Restaurant Group, told Crain’s that the company is also evaluating the possibility of opening a Jolly Pumpkin location in Macomb or Oakland counties. “Jolly Pumpkin, it is unique. It’s one of the only two or three (breweries) that I know of that can produce a sour beer with wild yeast,” Crawford told Crain’s. “So you get these amazing flavors that we probably normally wouldn’t in, say, a clean yeast brewery.”
