Timberwolves will be most traveled team during 2024-25 season

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be the most traveled team in the NBA next season.

That's according to sports analytics database Positive Residual, which states the Wolves will travel 49,900 miles during the 2024-25 season. The next closest will be the Portland Trail Blazers at 48,900 miles.

This comes as no surprise to Wolves fans, as they've always been one of the more traveled teams in the league since they play in the Western Conference. Many share the same sentiment that Minnesota geographically should be in the Eastern Conference.

Minnesota is at least 800 miles away from every team in the West.

The last time the Timberwolves were the most-traveled team was the 2017-18 season, according to Positive Residual data.

The Timberwolves should be towards the top of the list of teams to join the Eastern Conference once the league expands. With the additional of potential franchises in Las Vegas and Seattle, there should be no question in the move.

Geographically speaking, other teams nearby in the Eastern Conference include the Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, Indiana and Pacers.
