The new season has not even started yet and already, Golden State Warriors star Andrew Wiggins is once again dealing with a family emergency that will force him to miss a prescheduled offseason promotional tour.

On Saturday, Wiggins' manager, Richard Clarke, announced that the former All-Star forward has decided to cancel his trip to China because of an undisclosed personal matter.

“Andrew won’t be able to come to China in the next couple of days due to a family emergency,” Clarke wrote using Weibo, a Chinese social media app (h/t Joaquin Ruiz of Yahoo Sports). “These days have been really rough and tough on Andrew and the family. This trip really meant a lot to us.”

Clarke added that Wiggins and his family have been looking forward to this trip, but the "unforeseen circumstances that are out of our control" have forced them to "postpone this trip for now.”

"When the time is right, we definitely will be back in China," Clarke continued. "I know he’s looking forward to seeing you all very soon. We appreciate the love and support that you guys provide for him. In due time, he’ll be back and we’ll make it whole. Thank you.”

Clarke, however, did not shed light on the details of the emergency. Either way, Warriors fans could not help but feel concerned for Wiggins and his family over this unexpected turn of events.

"Praying for you Wiggs. Get your family right by game time tho...we need 2022 you back," said a fan.

"Praying that his father gets better and he can mentally be ready for the season," remarked another.

"For real what is going on with him or his family?" asked a supporter.

"Hope everything is okay! Family always comes first before sports. Some people don’t understand that," read a comment.

"Oh man. Wiggs been going through something the last few years. 💙💛" said another.

This is not the first time a family emergency has interfered with Wiggins' basketball career. Last season, he was forced to miss four games because of a similar development. During the 2022-23 campaign, the former Rookie of the Year was out for four months to attend to his ailing father .

It is unclear if this latest emergency is related to his father's health.

He needs to retire if his family keeps having him to disappear every season enough is enough play basketball or stay at home with your family if he had been available for the whole season the Warriors would have made the playoffs and not have to play in the playoff tournament

They can afford caretakers. Most people work when family is sick. As a single mom I had to. I am a nurse and if my kid was in hospital I worked and went after and slept there!
