I just don’t see how this new process benefits anyone. Instead of the MLS clearly stating the buyer’s agent gets some definite amount like 2.5% or 3.0% it’s now a mystery that has to be discovered. And even though buyers “may” get a seller to contribute to the buyer’s agent’s commission, there’s no guarantee and the buyers are ultimately responsible for paying their agent, with money they don’t have because they’re scraping every nickel together to have a down payment. The process wasn’t broken and shouldn’t have been fixed.
