The San Joaquin Valley Manufacturing Alliance (SJVMA) has announced its keynote speaker for the 9 th Annual “Valley Made” Manufacturing Summit .

The SJVMA’s summit, taking place at the Fresno Convention Center Exhibit Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 30, will have Dr. Matt Poepsel , vice president and godfather of talent optimization at The Predictive Index, provider of HR software for hiring, developing and retaining talent.

He is also the author of “Expand the Circle: Enlightened Leadership for Our New World of Work” and host of the “Lead the People” podcast.

Poepsel has a PhD in psychology, an MBA, and a Harvard Business School Certificate of Management Excellence.

He is also a part-time faculty member at Boston College, teaching graduate courses in leadership, human resources and business spirituality.

During his keynote session, “Optimal Output: Uniting Production, People, and Potential,” Poepsel will go over the most common reasons manufacturers fail to realize their full potential and the shifts in mindset and execution needed to unlock higher levels of creation.

“It is an extraordinary honor to join a community where the human element is at the forefront of creating better working environments. I eagerly anticipate celebrating our shared commitment to excellence and exploring how we can further enhance the quality of life within organizations across the Central Valley,” Poepsel said.

Genelle Taylor Kumpe, CEO of SJVMA and the Fresno Business Council, said attendees of the summit will gain helpful insights from Poepsel.

“Having Matt Poepsel as this year’s keynote speaker is a monumental event. His insights and expertise are set to highlight the importance of fostering a people-centric approach in creating better working environments within our organizations. The Central Valley stands to gain invaluable knowledge and inspiration, propelling our manufacturing community to new heights,” Kumpe said.

The summit is programmed as a workshop and resource expo that highlights the Central Valley’s history of innovation in manufacturing while also providing resources and networking opportunities to keep building the manufacturing workforce.

Employers who are exhibiting or sponsoring the event can also participate in the concurrent job fair, which is open to the public for those looking for manufacturing jobs.
