Several North Texas counties are declaring burn bans. The lack of rain, the heat, and low humidity are creating bad conditions in the rural area.

On Tuesday, Tarrant County issued a burn ban for its unincorporated areas. Tarrant County is the biggest county so far to issue a ban on outdoor burning.

The Fire Marshal's office said that the dry and hot conditions can lead to fires that spread quickly, creating a lot of fuel for wildfires. Interim Fire Marshal David Butler stated that it could be weeks before the ban is lifted.

The county plans to post some guidelines for activities that could spark a fire. For instance, welding fences in remote areas. Hood, Rockwall, and Johnson Counties are also implementing burn bans.
